CANTON, OH. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team picked up their third straight decision on Thursday evening with a 3-0 win over Malone University. The Panthers' keeper
Iver Sjavag collected his second clean sheet of the season after making two saves on the night. The Panthers' captain,
Haakon Torvbraaten, was the man of the match with a goal and an assist.
The Panthers (3-2-4, 3-2-0 G-MAC) were in complete control throughout the night. They scored early and built an insurmountable lead in the first period. Wesleyan scored in the 13th minute after a barrage of attacks in the Pioneers' zone. The Pioneers (0-8, 0-5 G-MAC) stopped playing as they were looking for a whistle amd the Panthers took advantage.
Haakon Torvbraaten from the center, passed back to his right to
Hamish Strong who put a away shot just under the crossbar.
Five minutes later the Panthers were on the attack again, this time a shot by
Cal Nolan was deflected by a handball, giving Torvbraaten an opportunity for a penalty kick. The keeper dove left and Torvbraaten's shot went clean through the right side of the net. Then in the 36th minute the Panthers were awarded corner kick.

Cameron Bell standing next to the near post. Bell quickly tapped the pass into the net, giving the Panthers a 3-0 lead.
Wesleyan took 10 shots in teh first half, six on goal. In contrast the Pioneers took six shots, one on goal. The Panthers coasted the rest of the way, taking the opportunity to rotate more players on to the field throughout the final 25 minutes. Wesleyan finished the game with 16 shots, eight on goal. Bell took four of those shots, two on goal with one goal. Nolan took three shots, two on goal.
The Panthers will travel to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday for a match-up with Ohio Dominican. The match is scheduled for primetime at 7PM CT.
