Wesleyan Suffers Shutout Loss vs. Walsh

North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team couldn't get one in the net in their 3-0 loss to Walsh on Saturday afternoon at Larry Staudt Field.

Wesleyan falls to 3-6-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the G-MAC, while Walsh improves to 6-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the G-MAC. The Cavaliers also extended their all-time series lead to 9-2.

It was a neck-and-neck match for the majority, with zeros on both sides of the scoreboard at halftime. For over 20 minutes after the break, that remained true until the Cavaliers' Hannah Stein broke through with a 69th-minute goal to put Walsh up 1-0.

The Cavaliers added two more goals in the 83rd and 88th minutes, with Jamie Duskey and Stein each scoring to extend the Walsh lead.

Although the score was tied for nearly 70 minutes, Walsh had control for most of the afternoon. Wesleyan only had three shots, one shot on goal, and two corners as opposed to the Cavaliers' 17 shots, eight shots on goal, and eight corners.

The Panthers play the third of three consecutive matches on the road on Wednesday, October 9 vs. Findlay. First kick is set for 3 PM in Findlay, Ohio.
