Panthers Play to a Draw Against Malone

Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team earned a 2-2 draw against the Malone Pioneers on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Park.

Wesleyan moves to 6-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the G-MAC. Malone moves to 3-3-2 and 0-3-2 in the G-MAC, still searching for their first conference victory.

Wesleyan now holds an 8-4-2 lead in the all-time series vs. the Pioneers.

The Panthers got on the board quickly to begin the match, as Callum Nolan notched his third goal of the year off an assist by both Cole Greenshields and Jersey Lopez in the 7th minute.

Malone bounced back later, knocking in two goals just 14 minutes apart to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. The first was a 31st-minute goal by Christian Piccolotto and the second was a 45th-minute goal by Caleb Redding and assisted by Piccolotto.

In the 71st minute of the match, Wesleyan tied the score on another assist by Lopez, this time to Adrian Stokke for his first goal of the season.

The two teams couldn't find another goal in the final 19 minutes, playing to a draw in the second matchup between the programs in 2024. The first was a 3-1 win by the Panthers on September 28.

Wesleyan continues G-MAC play with a road tilt at Cedarville on October 10. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM in Cedarville, Ohio.
