Panthers' G-MAC Success Continues With 1-0 Victory over Walsh

North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout victory over the Walsh Cavaliers on Thursday night.

The win moves the Panthers to 6-2-1 overall and 4-1-0 in the G-MAC, continuing a fantastic start to conference play, while Walsh falls to 2-6-1 overall and 1-4-0 in the G-MAC in 2024.

It was a defensive battle for most of the match, with both teams failing to convert a goal through the first 80 minutes and even struggling to get shots on goal.

Finally, the Panthers broke through. Callum Nolan took advantage of a perfect pass from Santiago Henrich, sinking his second goal of the season to put Wesleyan up 1-0 in the 83rd minute, and the Panthers' stellar defense finished the job as the Cavaliers ended the match with just one shot on goal.

Soufian Khaloufi, although with just one save in the match, tallied his fifth 90-minute shutout of the season in just eight matches thus far.

Wesleyan treks on with the second of three consecutive games on the road, next battling the Malone Pioneers on Saturday, October 5 at 12 PM. The Panthers already defeated the Pioneers earlier this season, a 3-1 victory on September 28.
