OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team came out on the wrong side of 1-0 decision on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers dropped its match against Malone at Panther Field, moving to 3-8 on the season. 
 
 The Panthers started the game with some furry after a midweek loss to Findlay. Wesleyan was aggressive throughout the opening half. Illana Hall took the first shot of the game within the first minute. 
 
Hall then had a shot on goal in the seventh minute. Haylie Panter got her chance in the 13^th minute off a corner kick, but Malone's keeper, Amelia Henderhan, made both saves. In total Henderhan made three saves for the Pioneers in the first half. 
 
The Pioneers were sparked at the start of the second half as they broke the tie in the 57^th minute. After already missing a shot in the first few minutes of the frame, Malone did not miss a second time. 
 
Madison Ward looked to tie the match in the 68^th minute, but Henderhan again made the save. Three minutes later Ward got another look, but that shot sailed high. In the 81^st minute Steeley Walker's attempt to find the equalizer was high as well. 
 
The Panthers had one more chance in the 88^th minute with Emily Goff. Henderhan made the play to keep Wesleyan scoreless and preserve a shutout. 
 
Kassidy Elkin made six saves in the loss. 
 
The Panthers will travel to Thomas More on Saturday to play the Saints. The match is scheduled for 6PM CT.
