Women's Soccer drops G-MAC contest to Walsh

OWENSBORO, KY - Madison Ward nabbed her first goal of the season, but the Kentucky Wesleyan Women's Soccer team fell 4-1 to visiting Walsh on Saturday afternoon.

Walsh improves to 6-1-1 (4-1-0 G-MAC) while Wesleyan drops to 0-8 (0-6 G-MAC).

Despite the final scoreline, the game was played very evenly, with both teams totaling 15 shots in the contest. Walsh capitalized on their chances, scoring the first three goals of the game. Madison Ward took a pass from Haley Osborne in the 76th minute and put it in the back of the net, cutting into the Cavalier advantage. Walsh tacked on one more goal near the end of the contest to give the game it's final score.

Madison Ward led with four shots in the game, while Claudia Melgar added three. Kassidy Elkin made three saves in goal for the Panthers.

Wesleyan will hit the road next week when they travel to Canton, Ohio, to take on the Malone Pioneers. Kickoff is on Thursday at 4 p.m. CT.
