PAINESVILLE, OH -
Chloe Hinchcliffe did
Chloe Hinchcliffe things on Saturday, scoring twice to lead Wesleyan to a big 2-0 win over Lake Erie. Hinchcliffe now has 18 career goals, moving her to ninth all time in KWC history.
Kentucky Wesleyan moves to 2-8 (2-6 G-MAC) on the year while Lake Erie falls to 1-9-1 (0-7-0 G-MAC).
The Panthers dominated from the jump, as
Chloe Hinchcliffe scored her first goal in just the 11th minute, putting Wesleyan up 1-0 early. In the second half,
Haylie Panter and
Bree Owen had two great shots come close to finding the back of the net, before Hinchliffe took a pass from Owen and buried it for her second goal of the game.
Wesleyan was clearly a step above the Storm, leading 13-2 in shots and 6-1 in shots-on-goal.
Kassidy Elkin and
Elizabeth Burns each played a half for the combined shutout.
Wesleyan will look to keep the momentum rolling this week when they play host to the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at Panther Field.
