Women's Soccer drops close one at home

OWENSBORO, KY - On a cold Tuesday night in the 'Boro, the Kentucky Wesleyan Women's Soccer team couldn't hold on to a 1-0 lead, as they would fall 2-1 to the visiting Trevecca Nazarene Trojans. With the Panthers holding a 1-0 lead at the break, Trevecca Nazarene came back to score two goals in the second half to win it.

TNU improves to 4-4-4 (4-1-4 G-MAC) while Wesleyan drops to 2-9 (2-7 G-MAC).

Things started off great for the Panthers, as star senior Chloe Hinchcliffe got on the board with a penalty kick in the 20th minute of the game. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Burns and her defense kept the Trojans at bay for the rest of the half as Wesleyan went into the break up 1-0.

Trevecca tied things up in the 58th minute on a goal by Grace Oliver. Shots from Imarie Carter and Bree Owen failed to fall for the Panthers, and TNU took advantage. They scored off a free kick in the 83rd minute to take the late lead. Wesleyan had multiple chances late, but couldn't find the back of the net as TNU took the win.

Chloe Hinchcliffe led the Panthers with four shots in the contest, with Bree Owen and Haley Osborne's three coming in just behind her.

The Panthers will host the Findlay Oilers on Saturday afternoon as both teams continue G-MAC play. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CT.
