ALLENDALE, MI - The Kentucky Wesleyan women's golf team used a strong day one to lead them to a 13th place finish at the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite this weekend. Wesleyan shot a team score of 685 (+109), their best score of the season.
Freshman
Audrey Koetter led the Panthers with a two-round score of 166 (+22). Her rounds of 84-82 put her in a tie for 49th.
Maddie Zimmerman came through with rounds of 82 and 86 to finish with a 168 (+24), good for a tie for 53rd.
Samantha DeSpain came through in a tie for 63rd with a 174 (+30), while
Megan Bryan tallied a 177 (+33) to tie for 70th.
Avery Shacklette rounded out the scoring with a 195 (+51).
Reigning national champions Findlay won the team title with a 607 (+22). Walsh's Emily Liptak took medalist honors with a 147 (+3).
Wesleyan will be back in action in a few weeks when they head to Mckendree for the Bearcat Dual Gender. The event will take place at Far Oaks Golf Course on Oct. 17-18 in Lebanon, Illinois.
