GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling team spent its Saturday at the Carolina Clash. The Panthers dropped four dual matches against some top opponents in the event hosted by Lander University. Gabe Adams continued to shine for the Panthers as he finished 4-0 on the day. 
 
The Panthers opened the day with a 34-9 loss against Simon Fraser. Adams and Randy McDonald featured a scoreless first period at 141 pounds. Adams then took control with a takedown and near fall in the second period, outscoring McDonald 7-1 in the frame. After riding time Adams walked with an 8-1 decision. Bryson Rowley received a forfeit at 125 to account for the rest of the Panthers' points. 
 
Adams defeated Caleb Cox from Lander 5-1. Leading 1-0 heading into final period Adams recorded a take and near fall to pick-up another decision. Lander defeated the Panthers 41-3. Adams again showed his stamina against Belmont Abbey where he notched a 3-1 decision. Tied a 1-1 in the final period Adams recorded a late take down to come away with another win. 
 
Wesleyan suffered a 40-7 loss to Mount Olive to cap off the day. This time Adams got off to a quick start taking a 6-1 lead into the second period. In the end Adams earned a 11-1 major decision. Drayden McKerrow was tied 2-2 after two periods of his 197-pound match when he recorded a late take down to earn a 5-3 decision. 
 
The Panthers will have a week off before hosting their lone dual of the season, against Midway on December 14th. The match at Jones Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 PM.
