Wesleyan Falls to Trojans in G-MAC Opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team opened the Great Midwest Conference portion of the season on Thursday evening in the Music City. The Panthers fell victim to a 2-1 result at Trojan Soccer Complex. 

The Trojans (2-2-1, 1-0 GMAC) sprung into action with a quick goal in the the first two minutes of the match. Both Chloe Hinchcliffe and Natalie Hinchcliffe had chances to tie the match in the 11th and 15th minute, but both attempts were saved by TNU keeper Delayna Holman. Trevecca held the advantage for 35 minutes. 

Chloe Hinchcliffe found another opportunity in the 37th minute and this time she converted the equalizer. The goal marks Hinchcliffe's six goal of the season and first in G-MAC competition. 

The Panthers' (3-2, 0-1 GMAC) celebration was short lived as the Trojans took a 2-1 lead in the 39th minute. Hinchcliffe attempted to tie the match in the 42nd minute, but her shot went wide. Trevecca took the 2-1 lead into intermission.

Chloe Hinchcliffe took five shots on the night including one in the 56th minute that went wide left. The Panthers took 11 shots in the match, six in the final 45 minutes, however, the Trojans held off the Wesleyan attack. 

Reegan Garrity made 11 saves on the night. 

The Panthers will travel to Findlay, Ohio on Saturday as G-MAC play continues. The match is scheduled to start at 12 PM CT.
