OWENSBORO, KY. -
Rob Mallory, the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics at Kentucky Wesleyan College, has announced the addition of Joel Krenz to the administrative staff on Monday. Krenz will serve as the Director of Athletic Communication. He is the third person to fill that role in department history. Krenz's first day will be June 1st.

Krenz will be the direct media contact for the Intercollegiate Athletic Department. He will serve as the liaison between the department and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and the NCAA.

The Hoffman, Illinois native comes to Kentucky Wesleyan after two years at Winona State. Krenz was in charge of updating and improving gameday programs, creating video highlights, writing gameday stories, running livestats, and other duties as assigned. He also served as the sole person in the department for three months last spring following the departure of the director.
Krenz did his undergraduate work at Concordia University in Chicago, Illinois where he was a student-athlete. Krenz played four years of soccer, starting at forward for the Cougars his last two seasons. While a student-athlete, Krenz worked four years in the Athletic Communications office. He also served as the Vice President of the Special Olympics division of SAAC at Concordia. Krenz was the head news anchor for Concordia's on-campus TV studio and the production manager for the campus radio station.
Krenz is the son of Rev. Dr. Stephen and Lisa Krenz. His sister, Anna, graduated from Concordia Chicago the spring of 2021. Krenz holds a bachelors in Communication from Concordia from 2019 and earned his masters in Leadership Education – Sport Management from Winona in May of 2021.
