Bowling Competes at Hoosier Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's and women's bowling teams had a jam packed weekend at the Hoosier Classic this past Saturday and Sunday, competing in four tournaments in a two-day span. 

On the men's side, the Panthers finished seventeenth, twenty-sixth, thirtieth and sixth.  Wesleyan posted a weekend-high of 4,503 pins during the final tournament on Sunday.

For the women, Wesleyan placed sixth, fourteenth, fifth and fourth.  The Panthers posted a score of 4,561 pins in the third tournament.  Wesleyan was in contention to win it, sitting in first after the first three games, but ultimately finished fifth.

For the second straight week, a member of the women's team brought home All-Tournament honors.  Alyssa Zombirt finished fourth in the opening tournament of the weekend, averaging 210.6 pins per game with a high score of 254.  Samantha Bugno snuck into the Top 25, finished 23rd with 181.4 pins per game.

The men return to action this weekend, heading to St. Charles, Mo. for the Lions Classic on Saturday and Sunday.  The women will take this weekend off before heading to Smyrna, Tenn. on March 5-7 for the Columbia 300 Music City Classic.
