OWENSBORO, KY - The Kentucky Wesleyan Athletic Department has officially announced the hiring of
Shiloh Young as the Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services/Senior Woman's Administrator (SWA).
In this important role, Young will develop and direct a comprehensive athletics compliance program for educating, monitoring, reporting, and complying with all NCAA, Conference, and College rules and regulations. In addition, she will support student-athlete services to include academics, life skills and student-athlete development within "One Team Wesleyan" programming and in alignment with campus efforts to enhance the overall student-athlete experience. As SWA, she is the highest-ranking female involved with the daily management of an institution's intercollegiate athletics program.
"I'm excited to make the switch to athletics," stated Young. It's not a area I ever thought I would get into, but I'm excited and ready for this new adventure. While not an athlete myself, athletes and coaches have a special place in my heart and I'm looking forward to working with and helping both."
Prior to her time in Athletics, Young was a Financial Aid Counselor at Kentucky Wesleyan, where she aided students, parents, and coaches on the financial aid process. She began her time at KWC as a Program Assistant in the Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning and oversaw all the event coordination and marketing in that position and is currently a Resident Director on the KWC campus.
Before Wesleyan, Young held positions in a YMCA, the United Way and in a private medical practice.
"We are thrilled to add Shiloh to our team," said Interim Athletic Director
Mark Shook. "She has been a great campus partner for us in Financial Aid and as a Resident Director. She had already established productive relationships with our coaches and staff and is well-respected as an organized, intelligent, and caring problem-solver who puts the student first in every scenario. She is a true team player that makes us better in so many ways. I look forward to her leadership and overall impact as she transitions to this important role on our team."
Young graduated from Kentucky Christian University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Biblical Studies. She is married to assistant football coach
Tyrone Young and they reside in Owensboro with their daughter Peyton.
