OWENSBORO, KY - After struggling through the tough conditions in round one, the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers came alive on day two. Nine of the 10 individuals shot better scores on day two, with
Tyler Nickol leading the way with a career low score of 67.
The Kentucky Wesleyan "A" team (
Tyler Nickol,
Jonah Graham,
Evan Beery,
Camden Robertson,
Evan Schumacher) improved by 18 strokes on day two, coming in with a 295 (+7). Their two round score of 608 (+32) jumped them two spots for an impressive fourth place finish. The Kentucky Wesleyan "B" team (
Andreas Olsen,
Blake Kelly,
Ethan Lucas,
Nicholas Johnson,
Lance Lewis) improved by 23 strokes on day two, coming in with a 310 (+22). Their two round score of 643 (+67) put them in 10th place, just six strokes behind the Purdue-Northwest "A" team.
Upset with a five-over 77 on day one,
Tyler Nickol played some of his best golf ever on day two. He tallied four birdies and an eagle to shoot a five-under 67 on his final round to jump 16 spots to finish in a tie for 2nd place.
Jonah Graham played his best golf of the year, shooting scores of 74-73 (+3 147) to come in at a tie for fifth, the best placing of his young career.
Andreas Olsen, after shooting a round one 79, carded a 73 on the final round to jump 11 spots into a tie for 16th with a 152 (+8).
Evan Beery was extremely consistent, shooting scores of 79 and 78 to coming in at a tie for 29th with a 157 (+13).
Blake Kelly improved by five strokes on day two, shooting scores of 82-77 to finish in a tie for 37th with a 159 (+15).
After a rough opening round,
Camden Robertson shot a 77 in his final round to come in 39th with a 160 (+16). Playing in their first career tournaments,
Ethan Lucas and
Nicholas Johnson each showed a lot of promise. Lucas shot scores of 83-81 to come in a tie for 44th with a 164 (+20), and Johnson shot scores of 89-79 to come in 53rd with a 168 (+24).
Evan Schumacher and
Lance Lewis rounded out the scoring for the Panthers with two-round scores of 172 (+28) and 182 (+38) to come in 56th and 63rd place.
McKendree won the event with a 584 (+8). Fabian Wennerlof took medalist honors with a two round score (66-74) of 140 (-4).
This was the last event for Head Coach
Ken Badylak and his Panthers this fall, as they won't play again until the spring season.
