KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Small College Basketball Hall of Fame announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2020 on Friday morning. Kentucky Wesleyan greats Corey Crowder and Dallas Thornton were both selected to the Induction Class of 2020.
The Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 29, at the Missouri Theatre in St. Joseph, MO. The day will include a lunch event, a press conference, a panel discussion, the Induction Ceremony and a VIP Social. Dallas Thornton was a two-time All-American and a two-time NCAA Champion in 1966 and 1968. He is one of six Panthers to have their number retired. Thornton is a two-time NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team honoree and was voted to the Kentucky Wesleyan All-Century team by fans. He holds the career record at Wesleyan for most consecutive starts (112) in addition to career points (5th– 1,929) and rebounds (7th– 903). He was inducted into the Kentucky Wesleyan Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
Corey Crowder was the first Panther in any sport to be named National Player of the Year, earning the honor following the 1990-91 season. He was a three-time All-American along with a NCAA Champion (1990). Crowder's number is also retired at Kentucky Wesleyan following a two-time GLVC Player of the Year nod. A member of the Kentucky Wesleyan All-Century team, he holds the career scoring record at 2,282 points. He was inducted into the Kentucky Wesleyan Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
