INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Presidents' Council has announced a decision to begin basketball conference competition on Thursday, December 3.

The first permissible practice date for member institutions has not been altered from the NCAA established date of October 15.

The Great Midwest will release the revised 20 and 22-game conference schedules for men's and women's basketball, respectively, as they are finalized.

Member Institutions retain the autonomy to engage in exhibitions, scrimmages and other outside competition permissive through NCAA legislation prior to the start of conference competition on Dec. 3. 

The Great Midwest will continue to work with member institutions to determine any additional alterations to basketball and/or other league-sponsored sports as the academic year moves forward.
