MICHIGAN – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams were defeated by Hillsdale and Northwood in their weekend tennis action.
On Friday in Hillsdale, the men fell 6-1 and the women lost 7-0 against the Chargers.
Jose Ferrandis was the big highlight for the men, winning 6-1, 6-1 on Court 1 against one of Hillsdale's best. Anna Bongardt was able to earn two game victories on the women's side.
In the second match of the weekend, both teams battled ranked Northwood squads in Midland. Each team fell 7-0 to the Timberwolves.
On the men's side, Adryan Taylor competed in an instant classic match on Court 6, ultimately falling 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. Nick Stoever put up an impressive fight as well in his 6-4, 6-2 defeat on Court 4.
In the women's action, Bongardt recorded four game wins in the second set on Court 1 to lead the KWC effort.
The two teams next return home for two non-conference matchups tomorrow, Sunday, April 12th against Campbellsville and Illinois-Springfield.
