FINDLAY, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling team bounced back on day two of the Great Midwest Championship on Saturday. The Panthers picked-up two wins in three tries, defeating Alderson Broaddus 29-15 and Ohio Valley 28-12. Wesleyan fell in the day's final match against Findlay to finish the G-MAC Duals 2-3.
The Panthers (4-9, 2-3 G-MAC) stormed out to a fast start in the day's opening match. Terrence Brown provided a flurry of offense in a 17-7 major decision over Breandan Coughlin at 133-pounds.
Austin Cook and
Caleb Craig extended the Wesleyan lead to 16-3 after back-to-back pins at 141-pounds and 149 pounds. Cook finished his match in 76 seconds, pinning Brantly Guckert. Then Craig pinned Brandon McIntyre in 2:31.
Andy Santana,
Trevor South and
Angelo Talabert recorded three consecutive decisions before a major decision by
Kairus Washington at heavyweight. Washington finished 3-0 on the day and 4-1 overall on the weekend.

Against the Fighting Scots,
Adam Bender, Craig, Santana, and Washington received forfeits. South added to the victory with a 16-6 major decision at 157-pounds.
Findlay benefited from one pin and three forfeits in defeating the Panthers in the day's final match. Santana earned a major decision at 149-pounds while Washington added a 5-1 decision over Caleb Carpenter in the heavyweight match. Last season Wesleyan was 0-4 in its inaugural season as a program.
The Panthers will return home on Friday for a dual against Wabash College. The match at Jones Gymnasium is schedule to start at 7 PM.
