DANVILLE, Ky. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's bowling team kicked off their 2019-20 season in style this past weekend, recording their best finish in program history at the Green River Classic hosted by Campbellsville. The Panthers finished fourth out of eleven teams, missing third place by just four pins. Wesleyan was in sixth after day one and were able to jump two spots after 12 baker games on day two.
Cody Stevens placed in the Top 10 individually, finishing eighth after averaging 197.2 pins. Stevens tabbed a game high of 235 pins in game one.
Tanner Johnson and
Izak Atherton both snuck in the Top 10, finishing 12th and 17th respectively. Johnson averaged 193.4 pins with a high of 236 while Atherton reached 233 and averaged 189.6
Colton Baker averaged 162.5 pins in four games while
Zach Roberts averaged 167.3 pins in three games.
The Panthers return to action on October 5 when they travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Mid-South Conference Collegiate Classic.
