INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After a 1-1 week for the Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball team,
Adam Goetz has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The senior averaged 24.5 points per game and shot over 55% from the field as the Panthers picked up their first win of the season last week. In the pair of games Goetz knocked back 11 three-pointers while recording 13 assists and four steals.
Against Oakland City on Wednesday the Erlanger, Ky. native tallied 22 points and flirted with a double-double, dishing out nine assists. Goetz drained six three-pointers along with four rebounds and three steals.
On Monday against nationally-ranked Southern Indiana, Goetz posted a game-high 27 points after shooting 11-for-21. The Panthers held a six-point lead at halftime with Goetz scoring 18 in the first half alone.
Goetz and the Panthers return to action this weekend, hosting the Wesleyan Thanksgiving Classic presented by Hampton Inn by Hilton. Wesleyan takes on Wheeling at 7:45 pm on Friday followed by Auburn Montgomery at 2:30 pm on Saturday at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
