Women's Soccer Blanked in Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team could not recover from an early goal from Cedarville University on Saturday, falling 3-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action.

The Panthers move to 8-8 overall and 5-7 in G-MAC play while the Yellow Jackets improve to 11-5 overall and 10-2 in the conference.

The Yellow Jackets netted their first goal of the game in the eighth minute after a cross pass.  That score would stick until halftime as Cedarville outshot the Panthers 8-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Wesleyan's offense improved in the second half, firing off five shots including two in the first minute.

Cedarville scored two goals less than four minutes apart in the 51st and 54th minute to increase their lead to 3-0 as neither team scored in the final 30 minutes.

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Panthers 16-9.  Natalie Hinchcliffe led Wesleyan with five shots.  Taylor Rentchler played the full 90 minutes in net, making six saves and allowing three goals.

The Panthers return home on Tuesday for their regular season finale.  Wesleyan will host Trevecca Nazarene at 5 pm CT at Panther Field
