TIFFIN, Ohio - The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team lost an 8-0 match against the defending Great Midwest Champions on Saturday afternoon. Tiffin University flexed its muscle throughout the contest peppering the Panthers' net.
The Dragons (6-1-2, 4-1-1 GMAC) scored twice in the first 20 minutes of the match and doubled their margin by intermission. With goals in the 27th and 43rd minute, the Dragons carried a 4-0 lead into the break.
Joe Daley scored his second goal of the match in the 59th minute to extend the Dragons' lead to 5-0. In quick succession Tiffin added goals in the 67th an 69th minute, providing insurance.
Lucas Daunhauer made seven saves as the sophomore keeper faced 25 shots, 14 on goal. Jake Peveler was credited with the lone shot by the Panthers (3-5, 1-4 GMAC).
The Panthers will return to Nashville on Tuesday to play Trevecca Nazarene. The previous engagement between the Panthers and Trojans was canceled after 45 minutes due to a power outage. The match is scheduled to start at 5 PM.
