OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team looked to even the score with the University of Findlay on Thursday afternoon, but the Oilers repeated with an identical 5-0 win.
The match consisted of moments of brilliance for the Panthers (3-4, 1-3 G-MAC), but the Oilers' quick start to the second half distanced Wesleyan. The Oilers (6-2, 3-2 GMAC) could not unlock the Wesleyan net in the first period.
Lucas Daunhauer made five first half saves to preserve a scoreless tie through the first 45 minutes.
The second half was a different story for the Panthers. The Oilers' keep-away style proved to be exhausting as they caught loose in the first minute of the period to score the first goal of the match. Josh Dickinson scored his first of three consecutive goals in the second period.
Dickinson scored again in the 69
th and 76
th minute to give Findlay a 3-0 lead which was later extended to 5-0 in the final 10 minutes of the match. The Panthers were credited with four shots on the afternoon, two coming in the second half. The lone shot on goal came from
