OWENSBORO, KY. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision to Trevecca Nazarene University on Wednesday evening. Elijah Easterday scored the lone goal for the Panthers in the Great Midwest loss at Panther Field.
The Trojans (4-3, 3-2 G-MAC) wasted little time in scoring the first goal of the match. In the third minute Keelan Lowrey scored through the right side of the net. The Panthers (1-6, 0-5 G-MAC) tied the match in the 19th minute on Easterday's score.
Selvin Hernandez lofted a pass over the TNU defense to find Easterday in stride. As he got the behind the defense, Easterday was faced with a one-on-one opportunity and fired through the left side of the Trojans' net.
Less than a minute later, Ethan Keogh put the Trojans back on top with his goal in the 20th minute. Trevecca recorded 14 shots in the first half at the Panthers' keeper, Lucas Daunhauer, four being on goal.
The Trojans opened the second period with a score in the 48th minute and again in the 52nd minute. Nicolas Reinhard scored back-to-back goals in the second half.
Daunhauer faced 28 shots on the night, 11 being on goal. The freshman made five saves.
The Panthers will travel to Canton, Ohio to play Malone on Saturday. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM CT.
