Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Panthers Edged by Trevecca in G-MAC Opener

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team opened its home schedule on Wednesday night, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene in their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest of the season.  The Panthers move to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play while the Trojans remain unbeaten at 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the G-MAC.

The Trojans controlled the first half, outshooting the Panthers 10-2.  Trevecca notched the lone goal of the game in the 38th minute to take a 1-0 to the half.

Kentucky Wesleyan fought back in the second half, firing out seven shots including four in the final seven minutes.  The Panthers were unable to find the back of the net, suffering their first shutout of the season.

Madisyn Hunt, Sidney Pruitt and Madison Haycraft each tabbed two shots while Breigh Haase, Kamryn Pulliam and Erika Hinchcliffe recorded one.  Taylor Rentchler stopped seven shots in 90 minutes in net.

The Panthers will not see action again for eight days until they host Cedarville on Sept. 14 in a G-MAC contest scheduled for a 5:30 pm CT start.  Kentucky Wesleyan will then take on Ohio Valley on Sept. 16 at 12 pm CT.
