CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team picked up a crucial three points in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon after blanking of Cedarville University, 1-0.
With the win, the Panthers improve to 2-5-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the conference while the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in G-MAC play.
Madisyn Hunt scored her fifth goal of the season after taking a long pass and beating the goalkeeper one-on-one.
Breigh Haase picked up an assist on the lone goal of the contest.
Taylor Rentchler stood tall in net, stopping all five shots faced and not allowing a goal in 90 minutes. This marks the first shut out of the season for the sophomore and the sixth of her collegiate career.
Cedarville held a slight advantage in shots, 10-9. Haase and Hunt led the Panthers with three shots a piece while
Sidney Pruitt tabbed two.
Kentucky Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday as they head to Ohio Valley to take on the Fighting Scots at 12 pm CT.
