North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team fell 7-0 to Walsh University on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers, felt the effects of a double-overtime loss to Malone on Thursday evening as they mustered one second half shot.
The Cavaliers (5-3-1, 4-2 G-MAC) took control early scoring the first goal of the match in the second minute. The Panthers (0-6-1, 0-5-1 G-MAC) settled in momentarily, but fell behind 2-0 after Dwight Van dyke's score in the 21
st minute.
After another goal by the Cavs in the 26
th minute, Wesleyan went into intermission facing a 3-0 deficit. Walsh took 15 shots in the first frame, six being on goal. The Panthers took five shots in the opening, forcing Tom Jackson into action to preserve the shutout.
Walsh added four more scores in the second half to secure the Great Midwest victory.
Grant Allen made seven saves on the day.
Jacob Stauffer added one save.
Ben Protheroe took four shots, one being on goal.
The Panthers will travel Cedarville, Ohio on Thursday September 28
th for a match with the Yellow Jackets. The match will start at 6 PM CT.
