OWENSBORO, Ky. – A goal in the final two minutes was the deciding factor for the Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team on Thursday night as the Panthers fell to Cedarville University 1-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action.
Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 0-2-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play while the Yellow Jackets move to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the G-MAC.
Cedarville dominated the first half but held a slim advantage in shots, five to three. The Yellow Jackets broke the scoreless game in the 88th minute on a breakaway goal.
Ben Protheroe tallied two shots while
Alex Farmer and
Chris Encarnacion each had one a piece.
Grant Allen made four saves and allowed one goal in 90 minutes of play.
The Panthers remain home this weekend to host the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley with kick off set for 2:30 pm CT on Saturday, Sept. 16.
