Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team continued to roll on Thursday, posting two victories on the day to improve to 12-6 on the season and 5-1 on the week. The Panthers edged Gannon 1-0 before overpowering Wheeling Jesuit 4-1.
Game one was a defensive battle, with the two teams combining for nine hits. With extra innings looming, the Panthers scored the lone run of the game in the top of the seventh inning.
Jaylin Tempel and Mallory Nease were both hit by a pitch to put two runners on with one out. Meredith Daunhauer laid down a bunt single, and Nease scord on a throwing error by the catcher.
Daunhauer and Courtney Lockwood both went two-for-three at the plate in game one while Lexie Mullen and Jamie Tempel each tabbed one hit.
Maci Brown went the distance to improve to 4-2 on the season. The sophomore struck out four while allowing zero walks and zero runs.
