Panthers Postseason Bound for Fifth Straight Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Trevecca Nazarene in its 2017 regular season finale on Thursday but the cards fell in favor of the Panthers.  A loss for the University of Findlay allowed Kentucky Wesleyan to squeeze into the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament.

For the fifth straight season Kentucky Wesleyan will make an appearance in the G-MAC tournament.  The Panthers earned the seventh seed and will head to Columbus, Ohio to take on the No. 2 seed Ohio Dominican University at 2 pm CT.  The two teams met this past weekend with Ohio Dominican taking a 3-0 victory.

On Tuesday night the Trojans tallied a pair of goals less than two minutes apart to take a 2-0 lead to halftime.  The Panther offense stepped up in the second half, tabbing two more shots than the first half but were unable to find the back of the net.

Madisyn Hunt led Kentucky Wesleyan with seven shots, three of which were on goal.  Madison Haycraft recorded two.

Taylor Rentchler stopped nine shots and allowed two goals in the full 90 minutes of play.
