OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team was victorious on Senior Night, posting a 1-0 victory over Alderson Broaddus University in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup. With the win, the Panthers improve to 4-6-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the conference while the Battlers fall to 2-9-2 overall and 1-7-2 in G-MAC play.
Kentucky Wesleyan dominated the first half, outshooting the Battlers 14-3, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.
Madisyn Hunt broke the tie with her ninth goal of the season in the 48th minute. Hunt received a long pass from
Madison Haycraft to beat the goalkeeper and put the Panthers ahead 1-0.
Alderson Broaddus held the advantage in shot during the second frame but the Panthers prevailed for their fourth conference win of the season.
Taylor Rentchler earned her second shut out of the season in net, stopping eight shots in her fourth win of the season.
Kentucky Wesleyan outshot Alderson Broaddus 24-16 with 11 shots on goal. Hunt led both teams with 10 shots including six on goal. Haase tallied nine shots with four on goal.
Kelsey Humphries recorded four shots.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday hosting Davis & Elkins in their final home conference game of the season with kick off set for 12 pm CT.
