A goal 30 seconds into the match was more than enough for Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer. However, the Panthers would tack on four more goals and defeat Brescia 5-1 in the Mayor's Cup game at Kamuf Park.
Christakis Agisilaou scored the early goal and he would add another in the first half and one in the second half to give him a hat trick in the game. Gary McMeekin added his third goal of the season on a header in the 43rd minute off an
Isaiah Hagan corner kick.
Austin Byrum also got into the goal scoring mix for KWC, scoring in the 75th minute to cap the win. Hagan had an assist along with Agisilaou and his brother Nikos.
Kurtis Roberts,
Luke Robertson and
Cody Leffert also had assists for the Panthers, while
Grant Allen started in goal, making three saves, including one on a crucial penalty shot.
KWC outshot Brescia in the game 16-14 and had nine shots on goal compared to just five for the Bearcats.
The Panthers return to the pitch for their G-MAC home opener Thursday night at Steele Stadium against Davis & Elkins.
