Former National Football League player and University of Michigan All-Big Ten player David Arnold joined the Kentucky Wesleyan College football staff prior to the start of the 2015 season after a three-year stint at Mercyhurst College at the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach.

After serving as the defensive backs coach in his first two season at Mercyhurst, Arnold made the switch to offense to coach the wide receiving corps.

Prior to Kentucky Wesleyan and Mercyhurst, Arnold served as the defensive backs and special teams coach at Gannon University.  He began his collegiate coaching career at Central Connecticut State, spending three years at the Division I-AA institution guiding the defensive backs, linebacker and special teams unit.

Before entering the collegiate ranks, Arnold started his coaching career at Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Ohio.

A 1988 All-Big Ten selection at cornerback, Arnold was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree for the University of Michigan.  The four-year letter winner helped the Wolverines to two Big Ten Championships in 1986 and 1988, and four bowl appearances, highlighted by a 1989 Rose Bowl victory.

Following his collegiate days, he played professionally for the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Oilers from 1989 to 1991.  He also played for the Hamilton Tigers-Cats of the Canadian Football League from 1992 to 1994.  He concluded his playing career with the Scottish Claymores in the NFL European League by winning the World Bowl in 1996.

Arnold earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management and Communications from the University of Michigan in 1989.
