Biography

2008-09: Third leading scorer with 10.8 points and rebounder with 4.8 boards a game…also third in three-pointers with 29, assists with 57 for a 2.9 average, minutes played with 29.6 per outing and free throw shooting at 72.0 percent …shot 40.3 percent from the field, 40.8 percent from the three-point arc…had 11 steals and two blocks…started 14 of 20 games played……suffered season-ending injury during the Wisconsin-Parkside contest in early February…broke the single game record for most free throws attempted with 26 and also tied the single game record for most free throws made with 18 en route to a season-high 26 points against Saint Francis…scored in double-figures 12 times…twice scored 20+ points…led the team in scoring, rebounding and assists four games…recorded a team-best 21 points in the first half versus Tiffin…made four three-pointers in three outings…twice pulled down nine rebounds…handed out nine assists against Asbury…played a season high 44 minutes versus Saint Francis…won 11 games when starting. 

2007-08: Started 28 of 32 games played…averaged 6.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 28.2 minutes per game…second in three-pointers with 39, assists with 64 and steals with 32…shot 36.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from three-point territory and 74.4 percent from the foul line…scored in double-figures five times…handed out 10 assists versus Southern Indiana…twice led KWC in assists…led the Panthers in steals seven contests...scored a season high 17 points with five three-pointers at Wisconsin-Parkside...grabbed six rebounds twice…collected four steals at Missouri-St. Louis…played 39 minutes at Lewis.

College: Transferred from the University of Southern Mississippi after his freshman season in 2007…played for Larry Eutaschy…averaged 1.3 points, 1.2 rebounds and 8.3 minutes in 11 games in 2007.

International (Summer 2008): Played for the Slovakia Under-20 squad in the European Division Championship at Warsaw, Poland this past July...averaged 12.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 steals and 25.4 minutes in seven contests…scored a tournament high 30 points against Finland.

High School: Played his junior and senior seasons at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School in Baltimore, Md… twice named to All-Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association conference team…honorable mention honor roll student…coached by Tom Rose…team finished with a 46-11 record during his two seasons. 2006: Second team All-Baltimore County selection by the Baltimore Sun…a Maryland-Pennsylvania All-Star participant…averaged 11.1 points, 7.3 rebounds 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals as a senior…guided his team to a 24-5 record and a second straight MIAA Conference championship…named team’s Most Valuable Player…competed in the Charm City Challenge All-Star game. 2005: Averaged 13.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.1 steals…helped the Cougars to a 22-6 record and a MIAA league title.

Personal: Born Maros Zuffa in Bratavisa, Slovakia on January 9, 1987…son of Juraj and Judita Zuffa…business administration major…has one sister Kamila…first KWC student-athlete from Slovakia…recruited by Rhode Island, Oregon State and Southern Mississippi.
