OWENSBORO, Ky. – Volleyball (3-11, 0-6 G-MAC) lost to Northwood (4-9, 2-4 G-MAC) in four sets on Saturday. Kentucky Wesleyan were led offensively by
Hadley Wolfe with 14 kills while hitting .500.
Kami Parlin added seven kills, and
Emmy Goering finished with six.
Ana De Sevilla-Acosta recorded 15 assists, while Gracie Lewis added 11 assists.
Sophie Spanier led the Panthers with 10 digs, followed by Parlin with 12 and Goering with 10.
Northwood 4-1 Kentucky Wesleyan (25-20, 19-25, 25-14, 25-18)
SET ONE: Northwood 25-20 Kentucky Wesleyan
Northwood controlled the opening set from the early stages, building a 6-2 advantage before Kentucky Wesleyan settled in. The Panthers pulled within 18-15 late in the set, but Northwood answered with a pair of points and maintained its cushion on the way to a 25-20 win.
SET TWO: Northwood 19-25 Kentucky Wesleyan
The Panthers responded with their strongest offensive stretch of the match. Kentucky Wesleyan jumped ahead 4-1 and extended the advantage to 15-9 behind kills from Wolfe and Parlin. Northwood cut
into the lead late, but Kentucky Wesleyan maintained control and closed out the set 25-19 to even the match.
SET THREE: Northwood 25-14 Kentucky Wesleyan
Northwood regained momentum in the third set. The Panthers stayed within striking distance early, trailing 9-10, before the Timberwolves opened a larger gap. Northwood eventually pulled away by scoring 11 of the next 14 points and took the set 25-14.
SET FOUR: Northwood 25-18 Kentucky Wesleyan
Kentucky Wesleyan again stayed close early, with the teams tied at 5-5 before Northwood began to create separation. The Timberwolves led 20-14 before the Panthers trimmed the deficit to 20-15, but Northwood closed the match by taking five of the final eight points.
