OWENSBORO, KY. – Kyle Jackson will serve as the Director of Stategic Communication and Fan Engagement at Kentucky Wesleyan College as announced by Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Jason Vittone on Monday. Jackson will begin remotely today (Aug. 10) and will move to the Owensboro campus in the coming weeks. Jackson fills the void left by Trey Curry who departed Wesleyan for Law School on July 31^st.  
 
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Kentucky Wesleyan College and serve Panther Athletics," said Jackson. "I want to thank Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Vittone, Assistant Athletic Director Ken Badylak and the entire department for the trust and confidence they have placed in me. I am excited for the opportunity to continue building the Kentucky Wesleyan brand and telling the stories of its student-athletes, coaches, and programs."
 
Jackson most recently served as the Director of Communications with the Columbus Fury of Major League Volleyball. Prior to his run with the Fury, Jackson spent a year with the University of Kentucky as a member of the Athletic Communications Department, working with the cross country, track, and swimming and diving teams. 
 
"Kyle brings a combination of experience, creativity and energy to KWC," said Vice President Jason Vittone. "His experience working at the collegiate and professional levels gives him a unique perspective on how we can tell the stories of our student-athletes, coaches, and programs. Kyle understands that today's athletics communications is about much more than scores and statistics. It's about creating connections. We are excited to have him join our team."
 
Jackson started his Athletic Communications career as an intern at Western Kentucky University. He later interned with Lindsey Wilson College before moving into a full-time role as the Blue Raiders' Assistant Sports Information Director in 2021. 
 
"I look forward to building relationships across campus and in the Owensboro community and getting to work alongside the Panther Athletics staff," continued Jackson. "I'm excited for what we can accomplish together and grateful to begin this next chapter at Kentucky Wesleyan."
 
The Lexington native has two degrees from Western Kentucky, earning a Bachelors in sports management and a Masters in Recreation and Sport Administration (Sport Media & Branding).
