This Week in Wesleyan Athletics

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Below is your preview of Wesleyan Athletics for the week of February 9-15.

Men's Tennis
The Kentucky Wesleyan men's tennis team is set to take on Asbury inside Centre Court on Wednesday at 11:00 AM.

The Panthers are coming off a 4-0 victory over Tennessee Southern, the first win for first-year head coach Teddy Morse. Jose Ferrandis (6-0, 6-2), Caleb Stovall (3-6, 6-0, 10-4), and Nick Stoever (6-3, 6-2) all earned singles wins. All three of Marcos Tiferes, Adryan Taylor, and Marc Stoever were leading at the time the match was clinched.

Women's Basketball
The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team has two crucial games this week inside the Owensboro Sportscenter, first taking on Malone at 5:30 PM on Thursday before hosting Walsh on Saturday for Senior Day. Both games will be streamed live on FloCollege and fans can listen at 94.7 WBIO.

The Panthers, currently tied for fourth in the G-MAC standings, completed the program's first ever season sweep of Ashland last Saturday with their 70-65 triumph. Riley Neal poured in 23 points and added seven rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and a steal.

Men's Basketball
The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team also battles on Malone (Thursday at 7:45 PM) and Walsh (Saturday at 2:15, Senior Day) this week. Both games will be streamed live on FloCollege and fans can listen at 94.7 WBIO.

Wesleyan, currently sitting in sixth in the G-MAC, is coming off a narrow 73-67 road loss to Ashland, one of the top teams in the conference. Jorge Sanchez-Ramos continued his stellar play with 17 points, six assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Baseball
The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team, pending weather, is scheduled for a four-game set this weekend against Davis & Elkins at Panther Park. The Panthers will play their home opener on Friday, followed by two games on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Wesleyan's won their season opener against Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville last Friday before falling in the latter two games of the series on Saturday. Rhett Dysholm hit the team's first home run of the season in Friday's win.

Softball
The Kentucky Wesleyan softball team next heads to the Sam Baldwin Memorial Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama, for six games from Friday-Sunday. KWC will take on Miles College in a doubleheader on Friday, Shorter University in a doubleheader on Saturday, and host Alabama-Huntsville in a doubleheader on Sunday.

The Panthers began the 2026 campaign with a 1-3 weekend at the Music City Invitational in Smyrna, Tennessee. Wesleyan downed Quincy in their season opener before falling in the final three games of the event. Chloe Apple went 6-10 with two doubles, five RBIs, and two walks in those four games.

Wrestling
The Kentucky Wesleyan wrestling team hosts their final regular season event of the year against currently-ranked #7 Tiffin inside Jones Gym for Senior Day. The match will begin at 12:00 PM live on FloCollege.

Gavyn Uribes and Dalen Kimble each picked up two wins at the Greyhound Duals, while all three of Larson Pilant, Tay Martinez, and Nolan McKelvy earned a victory.
