OWENSBORO, Ky. – Jorge Sanchez-Ramos has been named the G-MAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week after averaging 10.0 points, 9.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals and recording an 18-1 assist/turnover ratio across two victories for the Panthers.
The junior from Madrid, Spain, began the week with 12 points, eight assists, three rebounds, and two steals in the 76-62 road victory over Thomas More on Thursday night.
The point guard followed with eight points, 11 assists, two rebounds, and two steals in the Panthers' 81-71 triumph over Cedarville on Saturday.
Saturday's performance was Sanchez-Ramos' second double-digit assist game of the season, joining his 12-assist output versus Hillsdale earlier this month.
On the season, Sanchez-Ramos is now averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game while playing in and starting all 20 games thus far.
He is the third KWC men's basketball student-athlete to earn G-MAC honors this season, joining Fatih Huyuk (twice) and Armandas Plintauskas.
