Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan football team fell 31-7 against Walsh in their G-MAC opener Saturday afternoon at Steele Stadium.
The Panthers, now 0-3 this season, fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter and couldn't recover from that slow start.
The Cavaliers (3-0) added a field goal right before the half to make the score 17-0 at the break.
Walsh added a touchdown in each of the third and fourth quarters, leading 31-0 before Wesleyan could get on the board.
On a positive note, Harrison Burch connected with Camron Brogan for a 29-yard touchdown pass with 31 seconds left in the final quarter, giving Brogan his third straight game with a touchdown reception.
On the day, Burch completed 22 of 36 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. Brogan and Will Ray led the way in receiving again, with the former notching six catches for 60 yards and that touchdown while the latter logged five catches for 46 yards.
Emmanuel McRae had a solid day on the ground, tallying nine attempts for 43 yards and a 4.8 average per rush.
Tion Curry had a career day defensively, registering seven tackles and a sack. Jalon Baker continued his strong play, also recording seven tackles.
The Panthers will head back on the road next weekend to continue G-MAC competition, set to battle Hillsdale at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 27.
