Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team battled to a draw against Union University Sunday afternoon at Panther Field.
It's the fourth straight tie for the Panthers to begin the season, moving Wesleyan to 0-0-4 on the year.
The match was scoreless through 70 minutes, featuring strong defensive play from both squads, but Union ended up breaking through first with a 71st-minute goal.
Just a little over ten minutes later, the Panthers responded. Braeden Myers-Curry got behind the defense, allowing Haakon Torbraaten to deliver a nice pass to set up the former for his second goal of 2025.
Both teams had opportunities in the final minutes, but the chippy match ended up as yet another draw for Wesleyan.
Myers-Curry's goal was the only shot on goal for KWC. He also recorded two shots total, while Mattie McNally, Mohammed Alshabot, and Nicklas Henriksen each added one.
Iver Sjavag played the full 90 minutes at goalkeeper and recorded six saves.
The Panthers next travel to Painesville, Ohio, to begin conference play versus Lake Erie. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM live on FloSports.
