Panthers Earn First Win of 2025 Campaign

Hadley Wolfe records double-double with 22 kills and 10 blocks

Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team earned their first win of the 2025 season Saturday morning, defeating Point Park 25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 22-25, 15-11 at the UC/WVSU Crossover.

It's the program's first win since November 11, 2023, when the Panthers defeated Trevecca Nazarene to close out the year.

The Panthers prevailed comfortably in the first set against Point Park before taking a hard-fought second set to take a 2-0 match lead. The Pioneers responded well, earning victory in the following two to set up a deciding fifth set.

With the fifth set tied at 8-8, Wesleyan scored seven of the next ten points, highlighted by three kills from Hadley Wolfe, to take home win number one.

Wolfe tied her career-high, set just yesterday, with 22 kills and set a new career-high with ten blocks. Gracie Newton joined her with ten blocks as well.

Juliana Greaney continued her strong play with a team-high four aces on top of 18 assists, and Ana De Sevilla Acosta led the way with 26 assists. Emily Goering and Maddie Hanshew shined defensively with 20 and 17 digs, respectively.

Wesleyan also battled host West Virginia State later in the day, falling 18-25, 14-25, 15-25 in that match.

The Panthers now head home to begin G-MAC play, set to take on Thomas More on Saturday, September 20. First serve is set for 5:00 PM inside Jones Gym.
