Owensboro, Ky. – The Wesleyan basketball programs are making a final push to pack the Owensboro Sportscenter this season, encouraging fans to secure their season tickets and be part of the excitement.
Season tickets for the upcoming men's and women's basketball seasons are being sold at the Woodward Health and Recreation Center on the campus of Kentucky Wesleyan next week, September 15-19.
From 10-2 Monday-Friday, both renewing season ticket holders and new season ticket holders can visit the east side of the HRC, closest to the Quad and right outside Jones Gym, to purchase season tickets for the upcoming season.
As tipoff nears, head men's basketball coach Drew Cooper wants to remind fans that some of the best entertainment in town can be found at the Owensboro Sportscenter.
"I'd make an argument that this is as good of a return on entertainment value as there is in our city," Cooper said. "We led our conference in attendance last year, which is a great feather in our cap. So, we're hoping you'll return or join us here."
I want to make a plug for simply getting out of the home and attending live entertainment.," Cooper continued. "These players can play. Their athleticism is remarkable. And a lot of these games are cutthroat battles that go down to the wire. If you're a basketball fan at all, or even just a fan of competition, you're missing out if you haven't been around. We need you!"
As the team prepares for another season, head women's basketball coach Nicole Nieman credited the program's home success to the unwavering support of its season ticket holders.
"Our season ticket holders are a vital component to our team's success each season. Your faithfulness has allowed us to hold a 37 consecutive home game win streak along with winning 99 out of our last 114 home games," Nieman said.
"Your kindness and generosity have been a major contributing factor to each of our players' experiences as a student athlete here," Nieman continued. "They speak very fondly of their fans who attend each one of their games throughout the year and appreciate greatly your willingness to spend your time with us. Thank you for continuing to support and care for our program through your season ticket purchase."
The Panthers are grateful for the continued support of their loyal fanbase and can't wait to welcome everyone back to the Owensboro Sportscenter this season.
