Owensboro, Ky. – Reece Davis has been named the G-MAC South Division Player of the Week after his remarkable offensive series vs. Thomas More.
In that four-game set against the Saints, in which the Panthers won three of four, Davis went 11-17 (.647) with two doubles, four home runs, two walks, and 13 runs batted in.
The senior capped off the weekend with back-to-back two home run games on Sunday and was the leading catalyst in Wesleyan scoring an astonishing 57 runs across the four games.
For the season, the outfielder is now batting .405 with nine doubles, one triple, seven home runs, and 28 RBI in 24 games played.
Davis has a .810 slugging percentage, good for first in the G-MAC so far this campaign.
Additionally, his .405 batting average puts him second in the conference in that category, his seven home runs are tied for third in the G-MAC, and his nine doubles and 28 RBI are both tied for 10th in the conference.
Davis is the fifth Kentucky Wesleyan Baseball student-athlete to be honored as G-MAC South Division Player/Pitcher of the Week this season, joining Evan Oakley (twice), Isaac Rose, and Jase Mizell.
Overall, Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics has now had 17 G-MAC Athletes of the Week during the 2024-25 academic year.
Davis and the Panthers return to the diamond this weekend for a road-trip series at Cedarville from April 18-19. All games will be available to stream live on the Great Midwest Digital Network.
