Box Score 2 Franklin, Ind. – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams opened their spring season on Saturday morning, battling Franklin to begin the 2025 slate.
The Kentucky Wesleyan men's tennis team prevailed 4-3 against the Grizzlies to open the spring season 1-0.
The duo of Miguel Perlaza and José Ferrandis triumphed on Court 1 in doubles, but the home team ultimately took home the doubles point.
The Panthers found their stride in singles. Adryan Taylor tallied a convincing 6-2, 6-0 victory on Court 1 and Ferrandis had his way as well in his 6-1, 6-1 win on Court 2. Marc Stoever earned the third point for Wesleyan with his 6-2, 6-3 victory before Nick Stoever finished the job with a 6-3, 6-7, 10-5 tiebreaking win on Court 4.
The Kentucky Wesleyan women's tennis team was narrowly defeated 4-3, but did manage to win the doubles point to start their morning. On Court 1, Ella Brown and Angelo Ho took home a 6-2 triumph before Allessa Hall and Baylie McCreary earned a hard-fought 7-6 win on Court 2.
In singles, Ho came from behind on Court 2 to win 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 and Hall dominated on Court 3 in her 6-2, 6-2 victory, but the Panthers were unable to claim that coveted fourth point.
The men are back in action on March 2 in Dayton against the Division-I Flyers before rejoining the women on a trip to Bowling Green for a neutral site battle vs. Midway on March 15.
