TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Kentucky Wesleyan men's tennis doubles tandem Ilia Dobrovolsky and Cameron Middleton wrapped up competition Friday at the inaugural ITA Division II Singles & Doubles National Championships at the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center.

The Panthers opened tournament play Wednesday, November 4th against West Alabama's Jacob Tapia and Federico Iturbe, falling 3-6, 6-1, 10-3.

Dobrovolsky and Middleton returned to the court Thursday, facing Westmont College's Austin Stone and JD Drake, the nation's No. 8-ranked doubles team. The Panthers fell 7-5, 6-0 before bouncing back Friday with a victory over Northeastern State's Alexander Edley and Mansur Khajimuradov, winning 7-5, 4-6, 10-5. The team was guaranteed only three matches and concluded the tournament after the victory.

The duo earned an at-large selection to the 32-team national doubles field following an impressive fall campaign, highlighted by a semifinal appearance at the ITA Division II Midwest Regional Championships.

Dobrovolsky and Middleton represented Kentucky Wesleyan at the inaugural event, which expanded national championship opportunities for Division II singles players and doubles teams.
