Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team was defeated 18-25, 11-25, 19-25 by Ohio Dominican Friday evening inside Jones Gym.

Wesleyan started strong, taking an 8-6 lead in the first set as four different Panthers secured kills. ODU then closed the set on a 19-10 run to grab a 1-0 match advantage.

After a second set that saw the road team have full control throughout, Ohio Dominican took a quick 8-3 lead in the third set and looked to be running away with the match. Wesleyan responded with a 5-1 run, highlighted by a service ace from Sydney Kennedy, to pull within one at 9-8.

ODU followed with a 10-4 run to essentially put the match away, heading home with a 3-0 victory.

Ana De Sevilla-Acosta logged 16 assists and eight digs on the night. Havanah John totaled five kills and three blocks.

Wesleyan has another opportunity tomorrow, Saturday, November 1, against the Cedarville Yellow Jackets. First serve is set for 11:00 AM inside Jones Gym.
