Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team fell 10-25, 13-25, 25-27 against Northwood Saturday afternoon inside Jones Gym.
The Timberwolves launched out of the gate, comfortably winning the first two sets of the match.
The third set was a classic, with the two teams being neck and neck the whole way. The Timberwolves earned four consecutive points to take a 17-13 lead, but the Panthers fought back to tie the score at 18, highlighted by two kills from Emmy Goering.
The score would be tied again four times after that, but Northwood was able to notch the final two points of the set to prevail 27-25.
Goering led the kills effort with nine, followed by Havanah John and Kami Parlin with five each. Parlin added two aces to her line, as did Hadley Wolfe.
Ana De-Sevilla Acosta tallied 16 assists and eight digs. Maddie Hanshew registered ten digs, two assists, and an ace.
Wesleyan next travels to Crestview Hills, Kentucky, for an in-state rivalry matchup versus Thomas More. First serve is set for 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, and the match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
