North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team was defeated 14-25, 12-25, 21-25 by the Walsh Cavaliers Friday afternoon.
Walsh (16-5, 9-0 G-MAC) ran away with the first two sets, but the Panthers (1-17, 0-8 G-MAC) showed fight in the third.
It was a back-and-forth battle in the final set, with the score being tied six different times, including after Ana De Sevilla-Acosta connected with three separate Panthers for consecutive kills to tie the set at 19. Later, Havanah John delivered another kill to pull Wesleyan within one at 22-21, but the Cavaliers earned the next three points to put the set away.
Emmy Goering recorded a double-double with 11 kills and ten digs. Sevilla-Acosta logged 23 assists and eight digs. Maddie Hanshew tallied a team-high ten digs.
Wesleyan is right back to it tomorrow, Saturday, October 25, for a 12:00 PM contest versus the Malone Pioneers on the road. The match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
