Hammond, Ind. – The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team lost their final two matches at the Midwest Region Crossover on Saturday.
The Panthers (1-16, 0-8 G-MAC) fell to Upper Iowa (3-15, 2-4 GLVC) in match one, 12-25, 20-25, 12-25.
Grace Newton led the effort with 10 kills and three blocks. Hadley Wolfe added five kills and three blocks, and Ana De Sevilla-Acosta had a strong match with 24 assists and six digs.
In match two of the day, Wesleyan was defeated 10-25, 16-25, 21-25 by Illinois Springfield (9-10, 1-5 GLVC).
Havanah John and Emmy Goering each had eight kills in the match, with the former adding three blocks and the latter adding three aces. Sevilla-Acosta was impactful again with 22 assists and five digs, along with Kami Parlin's six digs and Stella Klefman's five digs.
The Panthers next head back on the road as G-MAC play continues, set to battle Walsh on Friday, October 24. First serve is set for 5:00 PM and the match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
